Terms — the plain version

Your shelf.
Their music.

SoundAgent keeps your record collection saved once and for all — at the meta level: which records, in what order, with their lyrics, liner notes and credits connected. The music itself belongs to the artists and plays through outside services. Here's exactly what that means.

We don't own it

The recordings on your shelf aren't ours. We don't host or sell them unless a verified artist chooses to sell direct through us.

You don't own it either

Shelving a record saves it to your collection; it doesn't buy it. You own a song only when you purchase it from the artist through SoundAgent.

What you make

Studio music and Talk podcasts are AI-made. Full rights only with a paid account — made on free credits, they stay on SoundAgent.

It plays elsewhere

Playback runs through third-party services (YouTube and the artists' own links). If a service pulls a track, our shelf entry stays — the sound may not.

01

What SoundAgent saves

Your shelf is a list: the records you chose, when you added them, your favorites, tags and playlists, plus the catalog details we cache for each record — cover art, tracklist, personnel, pressings, liner notes. That's the meta level. It never lapses and it's yours to take — export it any time as a PDF or a spreadsheet from your profile.

02

Who owns the music

The artists and their rights holders do. Not SoundAgent, and not you by shelving it. We don't copy, host or distribute catalog recordings.

The one exception is music a verified artist hosts here on purpose and sells direct. When you buy a song that way, you own a copy for personal listening and can download it. Nothing else on your shelf is a purchase.

03

How music plays

Catalog records play through third-party vendors — YouTube, and the artists' own streaming links (Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp and others) when they're set. Those services have their own terms, ads and availability; a song that vanishes from them vanishes from playback here too. Your shelf entry doesn't.

04

Where the words come from

Lyrics, liner notes, bios and tabs are imported from third parties and cached to your library for reading: Discogs (catalog, credits, pressings), Wikipedia (bios and record histories), public lyrics services, Songsterr (tabs) and Ticketmaster (dates). They belong to their authors and those services. We show them; we didn't write them, and we can't promise they're complete or correct.

05

What you make here

Music from the Studio and podcasts or reads from Talk are generated by AI from your prompts. Who holds the rights depends on how it was paid for:

  • Made with a paid account — money from your wallet: full rights are yours. Keep it, download it, share it, release it under your act, use it anywhere.
  • Made with free credits — the welcome allowance or credits we gift you: it's yours to keep, listen to and share on SoundAgent, not to use commercially or anywhere else. Full rights come with a paid account.

Don't submit or share anything that impersonates a real artist or uses their name as your own. AI-made work doesn't earn money on SoundAgent; we count its plays and shares, and we may reward the ones people love with credits.

06

The wallet

There's no subscription. You fund a wallet, and it pays for what you use: Studio and Talk generations, album covers, and plays or purchases of music that verified artists host here, at prices the artist set. Balances aren't refundable except where the law says otherwise. Artist payouts are still being built; until then, every play and purchase of hosted music is recorded to the artist, held, and not yet paid out.

07

Your account

  • Your shelf, playlists, taste profile and creations are yours; we don't sell them or your listening to anyone.
  • Sharing a podcast, song or album makes that page public to anyone with the link, until you switch it off.
  • We can remove content that infringes someone's rights, and pages or accounts that impersonate an artist.
  • You can export everything from your profile, and delete your account by asking.
